The Edgewood Bulldogs traveled to Rowlett High School for their Area round game Feb. 24, taking on District 9-3A runner-up Pilot Point in a thrilling contest that came down to the final buzzer. In the end, Edgewood held off a fierce Bearcat charge to record a 55-54 win.

The Bulldogs got a combined nine points from Sean Joyce and Trey Erwin in the opening quarter to take an 11-8 lead over the Bearcats.
