Indians finish 3-2 over busy week
The Grand Saline Indians spent plenty of time on the diamond over the course of the past week, taking the field four times as part of their home tournament March 2-4 before hosting the Martins Mill Mustangs for a non-district game March 7.
Grand Saline finished 3-2 overall during that stretch, recording wins over Scurry-Rosser, Winnsboro and Martins Mill while suffering losses to both Crandall and Canton.
The Indians began play March 2, scoring a 4-3 win over the Scurry-Rosser Wildcats in their tournament opener.
Trent Easley got the start and win for the Indians, allowing just five hits while striking out three in a complete game effort.
Offensively, Ryan Jones led the way by going 1/2 with an RBI. Other offensive leaders included Jake Morrison going 1/2 with a double and a run scored, Connor Lowe going 1/2 with a run scored, and Logan McDaniel going 1/2.
