Bulldogs pitchers dominate at John Tyler Tournament
The Edgewood Bulldogs pitching staff put on a clinic during March 2-4, allowing just eight earned runs during a 4-1 run at the John Tyler Varsity Tournament.
Turner Bannister got the ball rolling on the stellar run, allowing just one hit while striking out 12 in a 6-0 win over Tyler March 2.
Offensively, Bannister helped his own cause by going 1/3 overall with a triple, 3 RBI and two runs scored. Tye Elie finished 2/3 at the plate with a pair of singles, and Kason Grant delivered an RBI.
Tyler Lee handed Edgewood's its only loss of the tournament in an afternoon affair March 2, holding the Bulldogs to just one hit in a 5-0 win.
Cooper Hill got the start for the Bulldogs, allowing three hits and an earned run in four innings on the mound. Keaton Seale pitched an inning in relief, also allowing an earned run, and Kason Grant allowed no baserunners during his one inning of work.
Offensively, Isaiah Elie finished with Edgewood's lone hit, going 1/2 overall.
