Mustangs dominate Cross Roads, LaPoynor
The Martins Mill Mustangs put on an offensive clinic last week, outscoring Cross Roads and LaPoynor by a staggering 33-1 in two “mercy rule” shortened games.
Martins Mill jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Cross Roads March 10, scoring runs in the bottom of the first on a Marshall Davis RBI single and a Peyton Garner RBI double.
The bottom of the third inning would serve as the exclamation point of the game for Martins Mill as the Mustangs scored 10 runs to put the game out of reach.
Marshall Davis needed just 74 pitches across five innings, allowing just a hit while striking out 12 Cross Roads batters.
