I learned early in life the rules and regulations of how a school board works.

My dad, Floyd “Sam” Brown served on the Fruitvale School Board for a continuous 20 years.  During this time he obeyed the rules and made the meetings every month.

I have tried to do the same.  I have obeyed the rules, never discussed closed sessions and always put the children, school, teachers and taxpayers first.

I have been on the board for a continuous 12 years; missing only two meetings during this time.

I have gone to several school board seminars and have maintained my required hours of training every year.

During this time we have solved many problems, remodeled our elementary, built a new junior high wing, gotten a bond election passed and are now in the process of building a new agriculture/administration building.
