Eagles advance to Regional Quarterfinals with 4-3 win

The Canton Eagles continued to show how resilient they can be, bouncing back from a less than stellar defensive night that included five errors to defeat Bullard 4-3 in Area round play May 12.

Playing at Mike Carter Field in Tyler, the Panthers took advantage of an untimely Eagle fielding error to score two runs in the top of the third inning.

Canton would draw even in the bottom of the fourth, scoring a pair of runs with two outs to tie the score at 2-2. The inning began with two quick outs before Simon Miller, Hunter Moore and Johnnie Krawietz all drew walks to load the bases. Tyler Massey proceeded to deliver a single on the first pitch of his at bat, bringing in Simon Miller and courtesy runner Colbey Johnson.

The score would remain tied until the bottom of the sixth when Canton would proceed to score the eventual winning run in the contest. After two outs to start the inning, Johnnie Krawietz reached via an error on a sharply hit grounder to short.
