1935-2017

Funeral services for MaryLou Gift, 81, of Tyler, formerly of Wills Point, were held Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bro Dennis Ivy officiating.

Interment followed at Bright Star Cemetery north of Wills Point under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home.

 Mrs. Gift passed away Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, in Tyler.

She was born Nov. 3, 1935, in Liberal, Kan., to Walter Charles Ross and Mary Leola Bennett Ross.  She was raised in Liberal and graduated from Liberal High School in 1953.

She married Floyd Dale Gift Dec. 27, 1953, in Liberal. She lived in Garden City and Logan, Kan. prior to moving to Wills Point in 1977.

She was a homemaker and in her spare time she enjoyed quilting, genealogy, traveling and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Wills Point.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd Dale Gift Sr. on Aug. 13, 2006; and two brothers, Wayne Ross and Glen Eldon Ross.

Survivors include four sons, Paul Gift and wife, Sheila of Holyoke, Colo., Floyd Gift Jr. and the late Kate Sumner of Holyoke, Colo., Charles Richard Gift and wife, Carolyn of Terrell, and Mark Alan Gift and wife, Kristi of Wills Point; three daughters, Vickie Bowyer of Wichita, Kan., Janice Aoyama and husband, Kory of Plano, and Jenifer White and husband, Mitchell of Indianapolis, Ind.; 28 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jared Bowyer, Adam Bowyer, Mikel Bowyer, Justin Gift, Logan Gift and Kyle Libhart.
