The Fruitvale Lady Cats continued preparations for the 2017 postseason last week, building up positive momentum with wins over both Quinlan Boles and North Hopkins to push their overall winning streak to three consecutive matches.

Callie Harris finished with 10 kills, Abby Williams added five assists, three kills and five aces, Lauren Brown posted three kills, Mattie Davis finished with two kills and two aces, and Lulu Campbell added 6 assists in the win.

Coach Jerry Ptak noted, “The girls played great. We don't always have good focus on Homecoming night but the girls did a great job Friday night.”

Fruitvale posted a four-set win over North Hopkins Oct. 3, winning 25-16, 17-25, 25-14, 25-14.

Mattie Davis had 8 kills and 6 blocks, and Abby Williams had four kills and eight assists. Other contributors included Lulu Campbell finishing with three kills and nine assists, Callie Harris finishing with four kills, and Emily Williams recording two kills.

“The girls played great as a team, stayed up even after having a bad second set,” said Ptak. “I’m very proud of the way they played as a team. It was great to see.”
