Services for Marshall P. Heddin, 86, of Grand Saline, were held Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Paul Stanley officiating.

Interment was in Creagleville Cemetery.

He passed away Feb. 20, 2017, at his home in Grand Saline.  He was born Dec. 28, 1930, in Edgewood to Albert William and Eula Francis Parker Heddin.  He worked for Ford Motor Company until it closed (1954-1958) and then began working at Morton Salt in 1959 until his retirement in 1992, after 33 years of service.  He had also been a farm and rancher since 1956.  He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Osa, Haskell, Kirby, Irby Lee, and Ray; two sisters, Hazel Parkerson and Margie Smith; and grandson, Adam Carroll.

Memorial services for Gary Woodrow Gore, 74, of Wills Point, were held Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at Dawns View Ranch in Ben Wheeler officiated by Pastor Robert A. Davison. Mr. Gore passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, in Dallas.

He lived in Wills Point for 27 years with his loving wife of 47 years, Patricia Gore. He was retired from Empire Truck Lines as an owner-operator truck driver. Before retiring, he worked at TXI in Wills Point.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia; son, Gary Lynn Gore of Wills Point; granddaughters, Alexandrea Gore and Peyton Gore of Irving; mother, Irma Smith of Dallas; brothers, Charlie Gore of Arizona, and Greg Smith of Washington.

Services for Frank Corry Sr. were held Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017 at Lakeside Baptist Church in Canton, with Bro. Jerry Truett officiating, under the direction of Hilliard Funeral Home. 

Visitation was held at the church before the service. He was laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery in Canton.

Frank Augustus Corry Sr. was born July 21, 1933 in Huntsville and passed away at the age of 83 on Feb. 21, 2017, in Canton. 

He had been a resident of Canton all of his life, and was a member of Brookside Baptist Church.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was self-employed.  He, along with his wife, Norma, opened the first mobile home sales business in Canton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton White Corry Sr. and Thelma Lometa Swepston Corry; brother, Cliff Corry, Jr.; and sister, Florence Prescott.

Mrs. Duckworth passed away Feb. 17, 2017, in Tyler.

Funeral services for Elizabeth Jane Sockwell Butler, 77, of Wills Point, were held Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Pastor David Cartwright officiating.

Interment followed at the Howell Cemetery north of Wills Point.

She passed away late Monday night, Feb. 13, 2017, at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, surrounded by her family.

She was born March 29, 1939, in Terrell, the daughter of Chester Sockwell and Elizabeth Jane Johnson Sockwell.  She was raised in Wills Point and graduated from Wills Point High School in 1957, where she was Salutatorian.  She married Richard Huff and they were together for seventeen years.  She later married John Butler on Nov. 9, 1987, in Wills Point.

Memorial services for Amber Michelle Osburn, 23, of Canton, were held Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at Eubank Funeral Home with Matt Porter officiating. She passed away Feb. 10, 2017, in Rockport.

She was born Dec. 17, 1993, in Dallas to Sherry Lyn Berryhill.

She grew up in Canton and graduated from the Ranch Academy. She loved to go dancing, four wheeling, and spending time with friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Ashley Bishop; and grandmother, Frances Long.

She is survived by her mother, Sherry Osburn; son, Lane Osburn; brothers, Mark Crouch and Troy Perkins; grandfather, Bobby Long; uncle, David Long; aunt, Gloria Rodriguez; and stepfather, Jimmy Hines.

Funeral services for Sylvia Jo Sims, 81, of Edgewood were held Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Edgewood under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.  Burial followed at Haven of Memories in Canton.

Sylvia Jo Jackson, lovingly known as Sib by her friends and Mamaw to her grandkids, was born on Oct. 5, 1935, in Fruitvale to Luther Jackson and Cora Foster. She was raised in Edgewood and graduated from Edgewood High School in 1953.

She married Garnell Sims, Aug. 28, 1953. They lived in Edgewood until 1959 when they moved to Mesquite. She worked for Eller Media as a paint services manager. She retired in 1998 after 30 exemplary years.
