			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h1><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 13px; font-weight: normal;">The Lady Vandals moved their season record to 12-4 by winning 2-of-3 games at the Hallsville Ladycat Classic. </span></h1>
<div>The Van girls opened the tournament with Nicole Gandy pitching a perfect game in a 15-0 win over Evangel JV. Gandy (4-1) got the win in four innings, striking out 5, Gandy also led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with 4 RBIs. Brittany Goode was 2-for-4 with a double and 3 RBIs. Autumn McKinney was 2-for-3, while Danielle Cotton and Ashlin Lovett were both 1-for-2.</div>

<div>In the second game, Sierra Nicholls (4-1) got the win in five innings, shutting out Carthage, 7-0.</div>

<div>Nicholls helped herself at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. McKinney was 1-for-3 with an RBI, and Taylor Harris was 1-for-3 with a triple. Chelsey Trejo was 1-for-2.</div>

<div>Rusk banged out 12 hits to hand the Lady Vandals a 10-3 loss in the third game. McKinney (4-2) took the loss.</div>

<div>Van had 7 hits, and held an early 1-0 lead. Gandy and Harris both had hits and RBIs. McKinney had two hits, and Lovett, Nicholls and Trejo also added hits.</div>

<div>The Lady Vandals added to the win column in a rematch against Carthage, coming away with a 5-0 win. Nicholls (5-1) went the distance to get the shutout win.</div>

<div>Harris knocked in three runs with a 2-for-2 game and a double. Goode and Hutson were both had RBI hits, and Cotton went 2-for-3.</div>

<div>The Van girls are scheduled to meet Gilmer at home on Friday at 5 p.m. District play begins Tuesday in Wills Point with the varsity scheduled to start at 6 p.m.</div>
