EDGEWOOD—City council members in Edgewood unanimously have approved a contract for a street light energy usage audit.
In a brief meeting Tuesday, it was decided the city will enter a contract with US Energy Audit Services to determine if electricity charges are accurate for the city’s street lights.
The city’s electrical provider is Oncor.
Larry McGuffin of EV Solar Energy, a contractor with U.S. Energy Audit Services, made a brief presentation about the audit service.
In the only other item on Tuesday’s agenda, a matter regarding a Van Zandt County Transformation Grant was tabled because the scheduled presenter on that matter did not appear.
According to Edgewood City Secretary Petra Marley, the Northeast Texas Public Health District received a grant for Van Zandt, Wood and Smith counties.
The grant program focuses on healthy eating and active living, tobacco prevention and chronic disease prevention.
