Leon Rogers

Services for Leon Harold Rogers, 92, Wills Point, were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 13, at Quinlan Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Bailey officiating.


Burial was in Lynch Memorial Park, Greenville, under direction of Lynch Funeral Service, Greenville.


Mr. Rogers died June 11, 2008, in Greenville.


He was born September 6, 1915 in Weinert to Terrell Leon and Jewell Gailbraith Rogers. He was a former airplane pilot instructor and Kirby salesman. He was a member of Quinlan Faith Baptist Church.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Elise Irene Clark, in 1989; friend, Vertie Lewis, in 2007; his parents; and sisters, Helen Stewart and Nel Flynt.


Survivors include son, Harold Allan Rogers; daughter, Beverly Ann Rhoades, and her 29 Mongolian children; and niece, Margaret Gage.


Pallbearers included Don Loveless, Rick Coburn, John Jackson, Calvin Lucas, George Wood and David Fain.


Honorary pallbearers were Charles Mitchell, Lewis Thiessen and Lavelle McNeice.
