Services for Libbie Lou Moody Carey, 80, Canton, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 29, at Phalba Independent Full Gospel Church with Rev. Rick Wyatt officiating.

Burial was in Old Bethel Cemetery, under the direction of Hilliard Funeral Home, Van.

Mrs. Carey died September 25, 2008 in Ennis.

She was born September 15, 1928 to William Edward Sr. and Mary Elma Bowling Moody in Kaufman County. She was a resident of Ennis for two and a half years, formerly living in Phalba. She was a member of Phalba Independent Full Gospel Church and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by sons, Loye Dennis Carey and Danny Wayne Carey; brother, Billy Moody; sisters, Beatrice David, Mildred Sullins and Emmalee Brittain; half-brother, Ira Moody; and great-granddaughters, Ceara Smith and Chesney Sullivan.

Survivors include her husband, Loye Richard Carey, Canton; son, Johnny Schulz, Waxahachie; sister, Mary Jo McLemee, Terrell; grandchildren, Wendy Smith, and husband Sonny, and Jodi Sherrell, and husband Jeffrey; and great-grandchildren, Dustin Gettles and Dakota Hudson.
