Burn Ban Lifted

The Hunt County Commissioners Court lifted the countywide burn ban on Monday.

Hunt County Fire Marshal Richard Hill said, "Please use extreme caution in any use of fire. Please remember that only organic material such as tree limbs, non-treated lumber, paper or similar material can be burned.

"It is illegal to burn treated lumber, asphalt material, insulation, household trash, tires, batteries, chemicals, paint or any other item that pollutes the air," Hill said.

The burning of prohibited items can result in heavy fines from local, state and federal authorities.
