The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office along with the Commerce Police Department’s SWAT team conducted an early morning narcotics search warrant in Lone Oak.
Sheriff Randy Meeks said, “Robert Shane Burris, age 40, of Lone Oak was arrested and charged with a parole warrant for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 over 4 grams but less than 200 grams.”
He said Burris was also charged with Manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 over 4 grams but less than 200 grams which is a first-degree felony.
“An unidentified female was also at the location,” Meeks said. “However, she was not charged and was released at the scene without incident.”
The sheriff said, “A large quantity of methamphetamines was recovered along with drug notes and paraphernalia. I would like to thank Commerce Police Chief Kerry Crews and Commerce Police Sgt. Chris Vaughn and the rest of the SWAT team in assisting us in this drug raid. I keep telling these folks over and over that if they are going to be in the drug-selling business, they need to go somewhere else. I assure them that if they choose to do their business in Hunt County, we are going to shut them down.”
